You battle your way through to face LOD, and after a brief promo by the team its into the match. There are different rigs, even a steel cage match to play in, which adds to the variety. Your partner can “Power up” so if you get the hot tag, he has invincibility for a short time. You can complete double team moves, and throw you opponent to the outside, with the ultimate goal of winning the match. The mechanics work much the same way as the rumble, however it’s a 2v2 match, you beat your opponent to a pulp and hope you can pin them before their partner interferes.

Saturday nights main event sees you pick a combination of the superstars, although you must select the members of demolition together. Its easy to get elimanted in this game mode, so stay awayįrom the ropes, as unless you are playing multiplayer, its game over with no Once all the wrestlers have been dispatched you are declared the winner, a credit sequence follows and you can enter your high score based on the number of wrestlers you eliminated. Your energy goes down as does you time, and adding an extraĬredit gives you an energy boost and adds more time.Ī new wrestler enters the ring after a small introduction in the top right of the screen. The moves are easy to complete, and a lot simpler than the mechanics of today’s wrestling games. Each wrestle has his own move-sets, and the signature move is completed wither in grapple or when you opponents energy is down and they are lying prone in the ring. B button kicks, A button punches, both together makes you run so you can conduct a running move, and when you going a grapple, it’s a button mash to damage you opponent or throw them to the ropes. Moves are easy to complete, with only two buttons. The goal here is to pin or make your opponent submit, or throw them over the to rope and be the last one standing. You start with 5 other wrestlers in the ring, and the battle becomes frantic. In Royal Rumble mode, you select your wrestler, then after an entrance sequence, its straight down tho the battle. Like I said earlier, the game is split into two modes, “Saturday night main event” where you chase the tag titles, and the new mode, Royal rumble. There is an attract mode to give you some idea of the sights and sounds you will see upon approaching the cabinet. The graphics have had a major overhaul from the previous game, and they are big, colourful and sure to stand out in an arcade setting.
The two boss characters are LOD members Hawk and Animal.Įach superstar has their own style and finisher move, which are brilliantly animated and faithful to the real life counterparts. You could control Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Million Dollar Man, Big Boss Man, Jake The Snake, Earthquake, Mr Perfect, Sgt Slaughter and Demolition members Smash and Crush.
